How do I access articles from Google Scholar?
Answer
Google Scholar is an index of scholarly materials and provides links to the actual articles when they are available.
You can link Google Scholar with the Pierce College Library, so when you search Scholar, and Pierce has the article in one of its databases, a link to Pierce will appear.
To set this up follow these steps:
- From Google Scholar click on the hamburger menu in the upper left-hand corner
- Select Settings
- Select Library Links
- Type in Pierce and check off "Los Angeles Pierce College - View it at Pierce College" and save
From now on, when you search Google Scholar, if the library holds any of the articles listed in Google Scholar, you will see a link on the right-hand side.
You can also use One Search through the library to just limit to articles that the library subscribes to.
