How do I get extra credit for attending a library workshop?
If your professor has offered extra credit for attending a library workshop, you can demonstrate your attendance at the workshop through a Certificate of Completion. A Certificate of Completion is required in order to receive extra credit.
Here's how it works:
Step 1: Record Your Attendance
During your workshop, the librarian leading the workshop will provide everyone with a link to an online form where you can record your attendance.
Step 2: Save Your Certificate of Completion via Email
After you have submitted the online form, you will be presented with a Certificate of Completion as a record of your attendance, along with the option to email your certificate. Make sure that you email yourself a copy of your certificate using the buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Provide Your Certificate to Your Professor
To receive extra credit for your workshop, you'll need to provide your Certificate of Completion to your instructor. This can be done in a couple of ways; please check with your professor to see what they prefer.
Canvas Assignment
If your professor has set up an assignment in Canvas for your extra credit, you can submit your Certificate in Canvas as either a URL or a File Upload.
- URL: Click the link in your email to view your Certificate of Completion. From that page, copy and paste the URL for your Certificate from your web browser into your Canvas Assignment.
- File Upload: Click the link in your email to view your Certificate of Completion. From that page, you can download your Certificate as a PDF, and then upload that PDF to your Canvas Assignment.
You can also forward the email containing your Certificate directly to your professor.
