How do I set up ArcGIS on a library computer?

Answer

ArcGIS is available on 10 computers in the open lab (L2-L4 and L8-L14).

After opening ArcGIS on one of these 10 computers, follow the steps below to configure the program. (A Word copy of these instructions is linked at the bottom of this page.)

Step1: Click on "Configure licensing."

ArcGIS Sign-In screen. "Configure licensing" link is at the bottom of the box.

Step 2: Click the drop-down arrow next to "License Type" and:

  • Select "Concurrent use license" as the "License Type."
  • Type students-data into the "License Manager" box.
  • Click OK

Licensing box. License type drop down menu has been set to "Concurrent user license" and the phrase students-data has been typed into the "License manager" box.

Step 3: Click "OK" from the Attention Required box.

Attention required box. OK button is at bottom of the box.

Step 4: Reopen ArcGIS.

The program should now be ready to use on the computer.
