Can I place a hold on a book?

Answer

Yes! Students can place holds (called requests) on most items from the LACCD Libraries.

To place a hold, start at OneSearch to search for the item(s) you want to place on hold.

Once you find what you would like to place a hold on, click on the sign-in link. This will take you to the LACCD SSO where you will sign in with your student ID number and password.

After you've signed in, you should see your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Click on the Request link.

Choose which library you would like to pick up the item from. You would most likely choose Pierce. For books coming from other libraries within the District, it can take up to two weeks for books to be sent to Pierce. For books located at Pierce, you can pick up the same day.

You will also receive an email once the item is ready to be picked up. Once the item is ready to be picked up, it will be held for you for 7 business days. If not picked up, it will be returned to the original location.
